Details: Michalis Makroulakis was born on May 31, 1940, in Ermoupolis, Cyclades where he lived until 1957. Then, he moved to Athens where he studied Painting, Scenography, and Costume Design at the Doxiadis School under the supervision of artists such as Giannis Tsarouchis and Spyros Vassiliou. Initially, he worked as a set designer in various theatrical scenes in Athens, while in 1971, on the occasion of painting a portrait of the Queen of Iran Farah Pahlavi, he travelled to Asia where he settled and lived until 1978. He inaugurated his exhibition activity in 1963 and since then he has presented various of his works in group and solo exhibitions inside and outside Greece (Germany, Iran, etc.).
